MARRIAGE LICENCES. Before you can get married in Alberta, you are required to come into the registry office and obtain a marriage licence. A Marriage Licence shows that you meet the requirements to get married in Alberta and gives you the legal right to get married any time within three months from the date the licence was issued.

Verify you and your partner can marry in California. To get married in California, you and your partner cannot already be married to each other or married to other people. Other laws governing marriage in California include:
  • Each party must be at least eighteen years of age. California offers both public and private marriage licenses. No minor may apply for a private marriage license. Minors applying for a public marriage license must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian (emancipated minors included), as well as permission from a California Superior Court Judge.[1]
  • You must marry in California. You can marry in a county other than where you receive the license, but it must still be in California.
  • You must have at least one witness at your ceremony for public marriage licenses. Though the certificate has spaces for two witnesses to sign if you prefer.
  • Couples applying for a confidential marriage license must sign an affidavit attesting to the fact that they live together as spouses at the time of the application. A confidential marriage is one that does not get entered into public record. Any persons other than the married couple requesting a copy of the marriage license must present a court order to receive one.[2]

  • Marriage Licenses According to the Family Code Section 2.001, County Clerks issue all marriage licenses in the State of Texas. Presently, you can only obtain a Marriage licenses in Kaufman at the Clerk’s office.
  • Marriage Licence. If you are getting married in Alberta, you need to purchase a marriage licence. The licence that you purchase will be good for 90 days. Waiting Period

There is no waiting period for Florida residents who have both completed a state-sanctioned marriage preparation course within the last 12 months. There is a three-day waiting period for Florida residents who have not taken the course.

Fees

Each county has a different setup. In Key West (Monroe County), Orlando (Orange County) and Miami (Miami-Dade County) the fees are the same. The cost of a marriage license is $86, but if the couple are both Florida residents and they have a completed certificate of premarital counseling, the cost of the license would be $61. Under 18

If an individual is under 18 years of age, but older than 16 years of age, a marriage license can be obtained with parental consent. If a parent has sole custody or the other parent is dead, the permission of one parent is sufficient. If a person is under the age of 16, the marriage license has to be issued by a county judge, with or without parental permission. If a minor's parents are both deceased and there is not an appointed guardian, he/she may apply for a marriage license. A minor who has been previously married may also apply for a license. A minor who swears that they have a child or are expecting a baby can apply for a license if the pregnancy has been verified by a written statement from a licensed physician. A county court judge may at his/her discretion issue or not issue a license for them to marry.

Officiants

Any ordained or licensed clergy, notary publics, and justices of the peace can officiate your wedding.
